This morning on my flight from Takoradi to Accra,
just minutes after takeoff, the pilot announced:
“Please fasten your seatbelts due to turbulence.”
And suddenly, the calm turned uneasy.
Seated by the window, I watched the clouds —
moving with force, shaking the aircraft,
interfering with its smooth journey.
It was unsettling.
Then a thought settled in my spirit…
If mere clouds — created things —
can disrupt the movement of a powerful aircraft,
how much more the power of the Creator Himself?
Sometimes we underestimate God.
We forget that the One who made the heavens
holds authority over all things — seen and unseen.
“The clouds are the dust of His feet.” (Nahum 1:3)
Meaning what feels overwhelming to us
is effortless before Him.
“He made the clouds His chariot and rides on the wings of the wind.” (Psalm 104:3)
Even in life’s turbulence —
the shaking, the uncertainty, the fear —
God is not shaken.
He is above it.
He rules over it.
He commands peace within it.
And just like that flight,
the turbulence did not stop our journey —
it was only a phase we passed through.
In the same way,
what you are facing may feel intense,
but it will not destroy you.
Because the God who controls the clouds
is guiding your path.
So when life gets turbulent,
fasten your faith.
For the One who holds the skies
is holding you.
